“Receptacles with a taste of luxury”

The “SUS” in SUS Gallery refers to both “stainless used steel” and “sustainability”. Also, the designers and craftsmen have contrived of new ideas such as “the contemporary use and expression of metal” and “the new shape of life”. There are many kinds of metal: metal that we use in our daily lives as a necessity; metal that we use as a material of which we create other products. We now introduce a new concept of metal: the metal with a personal affection. Receptacles made from this concept present a touch of titanium that would reach out to the inner hearts of Japanese who have an affinity with nature. Please enjoy the unique quality of products SUS Gallery.

Accomplishments

  • 2010 – Selected as the former gift from Japan to the political executives of each country at APEC

Story

Tsubame-shi of Niigata prefecture is a town known for metal-processing industries since the Edo era. Beginning with Wakugi (Japanese-styled nails), the production of metallic crockery used in the modern society flourished and became popular in the Edo era. The metal technology passed down from generations created SUS Gallery’s beautiful vacuum titanium receptacles. Using a highly skilled processing technique, a layer of vacuum is created between the inner and outer metallic layers. This results in extremely efficient heat retention and cold storage, even for metallic products. The outer layer is kept free from condensation whereas the inner layer is well-protected. The new definition of high quality is created by the forefront technologies and state-of-the-art materials.

Interview

Metal holds a cool image, but I feel that our metallic products have a seductive charm instead. The surface of each and every metallic face has a different expression. We aim to create useful daily necessities that suit modern lifestyle, and at the same time products with an artistic and luxurious feel. Apart from its user-friendliness, it is also durable and stainless. It is high-class titanium-made tableware that has never existed. Taking into account the perspective of our customers, we hope to create more of such products that would satisfy our customers’ needs.
